Eine bedeutende Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeit in Irland<\/a> ist der Connemara-Nationalpark<\/strong> bei Clifden in der gleichnamigen Region Connemara.<\/p>\n

Der Nationalpark wird auch Conamara National Park <\/strong>genannt und ist einer von insgesamt sechs Nationalparks in Irland. Er befindet sich im Westen der Insel im County Galway<\/a> und erstreckt sich auf einer Fl\u00e4che von mehr als 2000 Hektar.<\/p>\n

Am Eingang des Parks in Letterfrack lohnt sich ein Besuch im Informationszentrums. Dort k\u00f6nnen Sie sich in der Cafeteria st\u00e4rken, w\u00e4hrend die Kinder sich auf dem Spielplatz vergn\u00fcgen.<\/p>\n

\nDer Connemara Nationalpark in Irland<\/em><\/p>\n

Der Park beherbergt eindrucksvolle Gebirge, weites Weideland, Grasfl\u00e4chen und W\u00e4ldern. Einige der Gebirge des Nationalparks sind Teil der ber\u00fchmten „Twelve Bens“ (auch „Twelve Pins“). Das bedeutet auf deutsch soviel wie „Bergkette der Zw\u00f6lf Gipfel“.<\/p>\n

In dieser einzigartigen, wilden Landschaft k\u00f6nnen Sie einen herrlichen Natururlaub verleben. Das Gebiet eignet sich auch hervorragend zum Wandern. Dabei sollten Sie jedoch an wetterfeste Kleidung denken.<\/p>\n

Verschiedene Wanderwege f\u00fchren durch den Nationalpark Connemara. Der l\u00e4nge Wanderweg f\u00fchrt auf den 400 m hohen Diamond Hill<\/strong>, der auch der h\u00f6chste Berg des Parks ist.<\/p>\n

\nWilde Landschaft im Connemara Nationalpark

Der Park wurde im Jahr 1980 gegr\u00fcndet und f\u00fcr das Publikum ge\u00f6ffnet. Das Gebiet wird in 2 Zonen unterteilt, und zwar in Nord und S\u00fcd.
\nDie Binnen-Landschaft wird fast ganz von Graslandschaften dominiert. Es gibt eine gro\u00dfe Anzahl an Seen, Teichen, S\u00fcmpfen und Wasserl\u00e4ufen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Die K\u00fcstenzone birgt eine hohe Menge Halbinseln und verstreuten Inselchen<\/a>. Einige von ihnen k\u00f6nnen Sie \u00fcbrigens auf einem Bootsausflug besuchen. Immer wieder sieht man in dieser wilden Landschaft Burgen und typische, irische H\u00e4user!<\/p>\n

Es gibt auch interessante Informationen zur Geschichte dieser Region. So gibt es Hinweise auf eine Besiedelung vor \u00fcber 4000 Jahren. Es gibt Spuren alter Megalithe (Menhire).<\/p>\n

Von Galway aus starten \u00fcbrigens jeden Tag Ausfl\u00fcge und Exkursionen zum Connemara Nationalpark.<\/p>\n

In der Region Connemara<\/strong> gibt es viel zu sehen. Neben dem Nationalpark  selber sollten Sie sich Kylemore Abbey, Kylemore Garden und die kleine Insel St. Macdara\u2019s Island anschauen.<\/p>\n

Fr\u00fcher geh\u00f6rt n\u00e4mlich ein gro\u00dfer Teil des Parks zu dieser Abtei. Das Kloster wurde 1871 fertig gestellt und sp\u00e4ter von einem Orden von Benediktinerinnen \u00fcbernommen. Es handelt sich um ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel. Kultur- und Geschichtsinteressierte k\u00f6nnen auf F\u00fchrungen interessante Hintergrundinformation \u00fcber das Kloster und den zugeh\u00f6rigen, beeindruckenden Garten mit einer Fl\u00e4che von 3 ha erfahren. Auch die Architektur des Abbeys ist beeindruckend.<\/p>\n

Der Nationalpark hat die Aufgabe, die hiesige Tier- und Pflanzenwelt zu sch\u00fctzen, zu erhalten und Besucher dar\u00fcber zu informieren. Hier leben viele Tiere und Pflanzen, von denen einige sehr selten sind oder nur dort  vorkommen. Besonders bekannt sind die wild lebenden Connemara-Ponys und wilde Rhododendren sowie die irische Glockenheide.<\/p>\n
